How this list is built
PoolResurfacers lists 1,434 licensed pool resurfacing contractors across 3 states. Here is exactly where that comes from.
Every listing starts with a state licence
We do not scrape search results to decide who belongs here. Each listing begins as a public record from the board that issues the licence, which is why every card shows a licence number you can check yourself:
- Florida — Department of Business & Professional Regulation, construction licensee file, pool and spa classifications
- Arizona — Registrar of Contractors, current active licence list, swimming pool classifications
- California — Contractors State License Board, C-53 swimming pool and D-35 pool maintenance classifications
Those files are refreshed periodically. A licence that has expired, or that no longer appears in the board's export, stops being published here.
What we add, and where it comes from
A licence alone makes a thin page, so each listing is filled out from the contractor's own website — what they say they do, where they say they work, how long they say they have traded, and photographs from their own pages. Nothing on a listing is written from memory or invented.
Ratings come from Google, shown with the review count, the source and the date we read them. 1,345 of these listings carry one and 1,434 carry a phone number. We do not run our own reviews, and we do not average, adjust or reinterpret anyone else's.
What is missing
Plenty. Contractors without a website stay in our records but are not published, because a page holding nothing but a licence number helps nobody. Small-town contractors are under-represented next to metros. Photographs are missing from many listings — where a card shows a pattern instead of a photo, it means we could not confidently identify one on their site.
Ordering by rating uses a weighted average, so a 5.0 from three reviews does not outrank a 4.8 from five hundred. The number shown is always the real one; only the order accounts for how many people voted.
How this site makes money, and what it does not do
Listings are free. No contractor pays to be included, ranked higher, or removed. We are not a lead broker: there is no form here that sells your details on. Where we earn anything, it will be disclosed on the page it appears on.
Being listed is not an endorsement. We have not worked with these contractors and cannot vouch for their work. Check the licence, get the finish in writing, and take more than one quote.
Something wrong?
If a listing is out of date, or you are a contractor who would rather not be listed, tell us and we will fix it.
